Obituary for Ann Elizabeth Hoover
Ann Elizabeth Hoover, 76, of Winnebago, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford following a sudden illness. She was born December 6, 1944 in Rockford, the daughter of Kenneth DeVere and Mae Lillian (Anderson) Benson. She graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1962. Ann married Douglas Steven Hoover on July 20, 1974 at First Lutheran Church in Pecatonica.
Ann was a computer operator at ELCO Industries, Inc. in Rockford and later a bookkeeper at Winnebago Grain and Feed. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Pecatonica. She enjoyed traveling with her family especially internationally with her husband where her favorite place was Italy.
Ann is survived by her husband, Doug Hoover of Winnebago; daughters, Michelle (Robert) Climer of Indianapolis, IN, Kristine (Mark) Stevens of Beaver, OH; grandsons, Steven Climer of Indianapolis, IN, Jorrdan (James) Stevens of Portsmouth, OH, Conorr Stevens of Portsmouth, OH; brother, Michael (Sue) Benson of Winnebago; several nephew and nieces.
Ann is predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Mae Benson; sister, Connie Stam.
A celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 8, 2021, at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago with Reverend Nord L. Swanstrom, pastor of First Lutheran Church in Pecatonica officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established. Cremation rites are accorded with interment at Pecatonica Cemetery.
