Loving Mother and Grandmother
Winnebago - Anna Mae "Ann" Swenson, 77, of Winnebago, went to be with her Lord Monday, February 18, 2008, in her home, after a lengthy illness. Born January 2, 1931, in Freeport, the daughter of Abraham and Elsie Deacon. She graduated from East High School in 1950 and became a licensed practical nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Ann married Harold E. Swenson on March 5, 1955, in Rockford. She worked in the pediatric department of Rockford Memorial Hospital until starting her family. Ann was an Avon representative for 24 years, serving the Winnebago area. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Ann's life was centered around her children and grandchildren and she cherished spending time with them. She also enjoyed fishing.
Ann is lovingly survived by her daughter, Dian (David) White of Winnebago; son, Robert "Bob" (Teresa) Swenson of Bloomington; grandchildren, Austin and Tyler White of Winnebago and Nathan and Whitney Swenson of Bloomington; brother, Robert (Sharon) Deacon of Rockford; several nieces and nephews; dear friends, Frank and Helen Hoyle of Dixon; and special caregiver, Liza Miller of Rockford.
Ann is predeceased by her parents; husband, Harold Swenson on September 6, 1997; and sister, Betty Gill.

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2008, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with the Rev. Kathryn Whitney, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Rockford, officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, in Rockford. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2008, in the funeral home.
