Obituary for Anna Margaret Jacobsen
ANNA MARGARET RAYMER PRENTICE JACOBSEN
Anna Jacobsen passed quietly from this earth on April 11, 2021.
Born on November 2, 1942, in Nashville, TN, Anna grew up and lived much of her life in Rockford, IL.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Harry L. and Gladys (Myers) Raymer, her grandchildren, Stephaney, Elizabeth and Victoria Prentice and her children’s father, Patrick O. Prentice.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry Jacobsen of Winnebago; a brother, Bart Lee Raymer of Rockford and a sister, Betty Jo (Tony) Dzik of Belvidere.
She was greatly loved and will be achingly missed by her children, Patricia Schmidt of Pittsburgh, PA, Kimberly (Michael) Walsh of Rockford, Clinton Prentice of Colorado Springs, CO and Steven (Lesley) Prentice of Johnstown, CO.
Anna adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved hearing funny stories about them and the darnedest things that they said: Andrew Schmidt and Skylar, Andrew and Gabrielle Schmidt; Jaime (Neil) Reiber and Kennedi Haire and Jackson Cearley; Leanne (Paul) Looker and Dyson and Atticus Looker; Erik (Brianne) Walsh; Irene and Luke Prentice; and Destiney Prentice.
Anna lived in many places including Rockford, Lena, Winnebago, Skokie and Chicago, IL, Hampton, Georgia, Cape Coral, FL and Ault, Co, where she touched many lives. She was warm hearted, caring and supportive to many friends and family. She loved engaging in activities and interests with her children and grandchildren, including road trips, airshows, family game nights, “Avon Lady” pretend play, thrift shops and crafts.
She will be lovingly remembered by cousins, nephews and nieces.
Anna was a long-time member of Winnebago Evangelical Fellowship.
And, as perhaps the greatest gift she gave to her family, Anna knew Bill W for over 42 years.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites accorded with interment at Winnebago Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miss Carly’s of Rockford IL at misscarlys.org or CureSMA at cureSMA.org.
