Obituary for Arla A. Merrell Kuehne
Rockford - Arla A. Merrell Kuehne, 87, of Rockford, died early Monday morning, August 20, 2007, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born January 25, 1920, in Swanville, Minn., the daughter of Nicholas and Ruby (Aleshire) Schrupp. Arla married King Merrell on November 15, 1938, in Swanville. They came to Rockford, from Granite Falls, in 1953. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church. Arla loved spending time with her family and enjoyed crocheting.
Arla is lovingly survived by her children, Waldo (Charlene) Merrell of Machesney Park, Eldoris Palm of Rockford, Ilene Langdon of West Field, Wis., Judy (Philip) Wilson of Rockford, Barbara (Carl) Langdon of Sarasota, Fla., Wayne Merrell of Marshall, Wis. and Karen (Stephen) Nettleton of Cambridge, Idaho; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, LuVerne Merrell of Rockford and Lola (Clarence) Schlenner of Litchfield, Minn.; brothers, Gerald (Dorothy) Schrupp of Granite Falls, Minn., Darwin Schrupp of Texas and Lyle Schrupp of Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arla was predeceased by her husband, King Merrell on June 21, 1983, brothers, Laurel and Cecil Schrupp, a grandson, and two great-grandchildren.

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2007, in Berean Baptist Church, 5626 Safford Road, in Rockford, with visitation 10:00 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Melvin Swanson will officiate. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, in Rockford.
