Obituary for Barbara I. Haack

Cherokee Village, Ark. - Barbara I. Haack, 74, of Cherokee Village, Ark., formerly of Rockford, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, in Fulton County Hospital, in Salem, Ark., after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 28, 1932, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of Bert and Helen (Harbour) Cole. Graduated in 1950, from Bishop Muldoon High School, in Rockford. Barbara married George Haack on June 30, 1951, in St. Patrick's Church, in Rockford. She was a night auditor for Alpine Inn for 32 years. Barbara enjoyed crocheting, reading, and gardening and loved "going all out" for her family during the holidays.

Barbara is lovingly survived by her husband, George Haack, of Cherokee Village; daughters, Patricia (William) Gutierrez of Estero, Fla., Peg (Larry) Hopwood of Rockford, Georgetta "Gi Gi" Haack of Melbourne, Ark., and Judy (Marshall) Johnson of Rockford; son, Dennis Haack of Green Lake, Wis.; grandchildren, Adam Holler, Kathleen (Daniel) Lee, Kenneth Boke, Jordan and Karri Boggs, and Lillyan Haack; stepgrandchildren, Jeremiah, Kala, Jamie, Ronald, Zac, and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Collin and Airianna; mother, Helen Cole of Rockford; sister, Mary (Marwood) Allen of Rockford and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was predeceased by her father, Bert Cole; brothers, Robert and Richard Cole, and her daughter, Penny Haack.

Funeral Information

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2007, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation 10:00 a.m., until service time; Henry Phillips, pastor of Rockford Church of Christ will officiate. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, in Pecatonica.
