
Obituary for Betty Grace Armstrong
Rockford - Betty Grace Armstrong, 81, of Rockford, died Monday evening, December 1, 2008, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, after a sudden illness. Born November 2, 1927, in New Lisbon, Wis., the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Leake) Wonderly. She graduated from New Lisbon High School in 1945. Betty married William S. Armstrong on November 25, 1950, in New Lisbon. She was a housekeeper and seamstress at River Bluff Nursing Home, retiring in 1991. Betty enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and sewing.
Betty is lovingly survived by her children, Marjorie (Roy) Ary of Minong, Wis., Loretta (William) Smith and Janice (Randy) Cook, both of Winnebago and Charles (Judy) Armstrong of Rockford; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Armstrong on May 11, 1992; son, John S. Armstrong; brother, Charles Wonderly; and sisters, Maryanne Wonderly and Dorothy "Deanne" Fredrickson.

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with the Rev. Joe Warner officiating. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery, in Winnebago. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2008, in the funeral home.
