Beloved Mother, Grandmother & Great-grandmother

Seward - Betty Katherine Britsch, 86, of Seward, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loving family members, after a sudden illness. Born February 23, 1923, in Mount Morris, the daughter of Herman H. and Edna (Ridgeway) Rauch. She lived in Seward since 1945, coming from German Valley. Betty married John F. Britsch on October 11, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. She was a member of Seward Congregational Church and the Women's Fellowship. Betty was also a member and thrice Worthy Patron of the Freeport Chapter 303 Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing cards with her card club friends and spending time with her family.

Betty is lovingly survived by her daughters, Ruby (Gary) Scheuing of New Berlin, Wis., Connie O'Rorke (Randy Johnson) of Poplar Grove and Debra (Bruce) Miller of Springville, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Britsch of German Valley; grandchildren, Denise Sneek, Keith Britsch (Sandy), Kristen (Jerimy Rademacher), Michael (Montse) and Steven (Cindy) Scheuing, Dawn (Tom) Cockerel, Shane (Rebecca) O'Rorke, Kara (Mike) Raemisch and Kayla Miller; great-grandchildren, Brandon Sneek, Caleb Paddie, Alexis and Caitlin O'Rorke, Nathan and Blake Britsch, Mae and Ruby Scheuing, Owen and Allegra Scheuing, Kaiden Miller and Logan Cockerel; brothers, Roy Rauch of Rockford and Rodger Rauch of Mount Morris; special aunt, Lois Sweet of Rockford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Britsch, on May 24, 1996; son, Eugene J. Britsch, on January 14, 1996; brothers, Herman, Jr., Donald, Jim and Ray Rauch; and sisters, Linda Mammen and Arvilla Helton.

Funeral Information

Service is at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Genandt Funeral Home, 145 Church St., German Valley, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time, with Order of Eastern Star Rites at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Ronald C. Farb, pastor of Seward Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial in Adeline Cemetery, Adeline.
