
Obituary for Betty Zoe Douglas
Winslow - Betty Zoe Douglas, 93, of Winslow, formerly of Winnebago, died Monday, March 24, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her family and beloved pets. Born February 27, 1921, in Milledgeville, the daughter of Wesley F. and Celia M. (Spencer) Morgan. She graduated from East High School, Rockford. Zoe married Gerald E. Douglas on August 18, 1945, in Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, Winnebago. Together, they farmed 32 years in rural Winnebago. She was a member of Winnebago Evangelical Fellowship and Winnebago Garden Club. Zoe enjoyed knitting, sewing and gardening.
Zoe is lovingly survived by her son, Ralph (Claudia) Douglas of Winslow; sister-in-law, Helen Crowley of Winnebago; and nephew, Robert Douglas of Winnebago. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Gerald on June 18, 2007; and brother-in-law, Raymond L. Douglas.
Zoe's family thanks the entire staff of Hospice Care of America for their loving care and support.

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Ken Schmoyer and the Rev. Gary Brown will co-officiate. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.
