Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend
Winnebago - Carol J. Hofmeister, 72, of Winnebago, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in her home, after a lengthy illness. Born June 7, 1940, in Chicago, the daughter of Oivind and Ragna (Schulte) Jacobsen. She was the office manager at Robinswood, Rockford, a billboard company. Carol married David Hofmeister on April 7, 1993, in Myrtle Beach, S. C. She was an active member of Winnebago United Methodist Church. Carol enjoyed traveling and golfing with David, and also enjoyed cooking and gardening in her flower beds.
Carol is lovingly survived by her husband, David, of Winnebago; son, Rick (Annette) Mandock and daughter, Kelly Michaels, both of Colorado; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild to come; stepchildren, Teri Caldwell and Troy Egeberg, both of Florida; sister-in-law, Ruth Bartholomew; numerous cousins in Norway; and dear friends, Barbara, Peggy and Bill of Rockford, and Al and Laurie Ohm of Chicago. Predeceased by her parents and sister, Tootsie.

Memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Winnebago United Methodist Church, 213S. Elida Street, Winnebago, with the Rev. David Decker officiating. Cremation rites were accorded.
