
Winnebago - Caryn Julianne Casey, 21, of Winnebago, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Born June 5, 1986, in Rahway, New Jersey, the daughter of Matthew Casey and Teresa and Michael Schneider. She graduated from Winnebago High School in 2004 and was a senior at Illinois State University, majoring in sociology for the purpose of helping children in crises situations. Caryn was a volunteer with PATH, a crises intervention agency, at the university. A huge Disney fan, she loved "The Little Mermaid". Caryn was a pug lover and promoted her own slogan, "Pugs not Drugs". Fun and out-going, she never failed to leave a smile on anyone's face.
Caryn is lovingly survived by her parents, Teresa and Michael Schneider of Winnebago and Matthew Casey and Michele Australie of Bella Vista, Ark.; brother, Peter Jonathan Casey and sisters, Desirae Dawn Schneider and Katelynn Rose Schneider, all of Winnebago; grandparents, Gabriel and Patricia Viada of North Haven, Conn., Dr. Thomas and Marylin Casey of Troy, N.Y. and Ernest Schneider of Dakota; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Caryn was predeceased by her grandmother, Alice Schneider.
Funeral Information
Service is at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2007, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 126 W. 5th St., Pecatonica, with the Rev. Robert Sweeney officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Visitation 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2007, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
