Obituary for Catherine C. Haschke
Winnebago - Catherine C. Haschke, 89, of Winnebago, died Sunday night, January 30, 2011, in Prairie View Assisted Living Community, Winnebago. Born October 2, 1921, in Crivitz, Wis., the daughter of William and Anna (Gates) Wagner. Attended Lourdes Catholic School, in Marinette, Wis. Married George V. Haschke on April 19, 1941, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Byron. Together, they farmed for over 27 years, retiring in 1970. Member of St. James Catholic Church, Rockford, Centerville Community Club and Winnebago County Home Extension. Enjoyed crocheting and playing bridge.

Catherine is lovingly survived by her children, Margaret (Richard) Wade of Banning, Calif., Linda (Robert) Mitchell of Rockford and Russell (Jill Winslow) Haschke of Dallas, Texas; son-in-law, Lawrence Nalley of Stillman Valley; grandchildren, Kurtis Van Laningham, and Todd (Lisa) and Kip (Anissa Elayadi) Nalley; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Nalley; stepgrandchildren, Kathy (Al Tighe) Englin, David (Crystal) Mitchell, Mary (Kerry) Peters, Julie (Herbert) Phelps and Robert Mitchell Jr.; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Lynch; brother Raymond (Bette) Wagner; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband on January 28, 1992; son, Kenneth in infancy; daughter, Janice Nalley; sisters, Carol Goes, and Geraldine and Faye Wagner; and brothers, William and Roger Wagner.

Catherine's family thanks the staff of Prairie View Assisted Living Community and Heartland Hospice for their loving care and support. They were mom's angels on earth.

Funeral Information

Mass of Christian Burial is at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd St., Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Dean Russell will officiate. Private burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Byron.
