Winnebago Cecil Victor Broomfield, 78, of Winnebago died Friday, June 16, 2017 in Mercyhealth Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born April 21, 1939 in Boise City, OK the son of Thurlow Marion and Violet Julia (Kittle) Broomfield. Graduated from West High School in 1957. Cecil married Arlene June Rude on May 8, 1960 in Rockford. Cecil worked as a cabinet and countertop fabricator for Winnebago Counter Tops. Cecil was a member of Evergreen Covenant Church in Rockford. He enjoyed fishing, Hot Rod cars and car shows.
Cecil is lovingly survived by his daughters, Robyn (Gary) Smith of Clinton Township, MI, Julia Broomfield of Winnebago, Jill (Tim) Light of West Fork, AR; son, Kelly (Mary) Broomfield of Beaver Creek, OH; daughter-in-law, Terri Angel Broomfield of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Rachelle Broomfield, Michael Broomfield, Kylie Broomfield, Troy Broomfield; several nephews and nieces; special friends, JoAnn Sunday and Jocelyn Sunday.
Cecil is predeceased by his wife Arlene Broomfield; son, Todd Broomfield; brothers, Duane Broomfield, Buford Broomfield, Thurlow Ted Broomfield.

Memorial visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago. Cremation rites are accorded.
