Diesel Man
Winnebago - Chad N. Landin, 52, of Winnebago, died Saturday, May 16, 2009, in his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 29, 1956, in Rockford, the son of Clarence and Helen (Doty) Landin. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1974 and Denver Automotive Diesel School, Denver, Colo., in 1976. Chad worked at Waddel White and McCoy freight-liner dealerships and the past five years was a supervisor at Peterbilt Illinois-Rockford. He loved woodworking, riding his motorcycle and playing his guitar.
Chad is lovingly survived by his parents, Clarence and Helen Landin of Winnebago; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; and his beloved little dog, Ginger. He was predeceased by his grandparents.
Chad's family wishes to thank Peterbilt for their support and the staff of A-3 at Rockford Memorial Hospital, ACT and Heartland Hospice Services for their care and support during Chad's illness.
Funeral Information
Service is at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2009, in First Congregational Church, 633 Reed Street, Pecatonica, with the Rev. Duane Hoffman officiating. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, in Pecatonica. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2009, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
