
Obituary for Debbi L. Hazzard
Byron – Debbi L. Hazzard, 59, of Byron, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon with her family and dogs, Maisy and Rags by her side. Born May 14, 1958 in Rockford, the daughter of William Paul and Virginia Lee (Kittle) Carey. A graduate of Byron High School. Debbi married E. Duane Hazzard on July 4, 1991 in Seward and in 2016 they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Debbi and Duane’s love for each other and relationship was unique, devoted and everlasting. She was a lifelong care giver and worked as a nurse at Rockford Memorial Hospital, Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron and Testors in Rockford where she met Duane. Debbi had a passion and gift for helping people in their greatest times of need. She loved quilting, animals and spending time with her grandchildren and friends.
Debbi is survived by her children, Erin Hazzard and her children Rayna and Kingston, Eric (Trisha) Harleman, Ryan Harleman and his children Devon, Kayla and Dusty, Dana (Gun Kim) Hazzard, Daniel (Kari) Hazzard and their children Caroline and Katherine, June Hazzard and her children Madeline Lindquist, Will Tomlinson and Michael Tomlinson; great-grandson, Hunter; brothers, Dan (Jo Ann) Kittle, Dave (Jamie) Carey, Doug (Patti) Carey; several nephews and nieces.
Debbi is predeceased by her husband, Duane Hazzard; parents; son-in-law, Bill Tomlinson; best friend Carol Zellers.

A Visitation Celebrating Debbi’s Life will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago. Cremation rites to follow.
