Loving Mother & Grandmother
Rockford - Delores B. Cox, 81, of Rockford, died Friday, June 10, 2011, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, following a short illness. Born February 15, 1930, in Ryder, N. Dak., the daughter of William and Evelyn (Brue) Slocum. Delores married Delbert C. "Joe" Cox on April 26, 1952, in Milwaukee. She worked at the Wagon Wheel, in Rockton and next at National Lock, Rockford. Delores then graduated from beauty school and was a beautician in her home for over 50 years. She was an active member of Burritt Community Church and the Burritt Grange, and served as an election judge for many years. Delores enjoyed gardening and loved cooking and baking for her family. She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Delores is lovingly survived by her sons, Dale (Janet) Cox of Durand and Doug (Andrea) Cox of Rockford; grandchildren, David, Craig, Keith, Brittney and Christina Cox; great-grandson, Brayden Cox; brothers, Donald and Duane Slocum; sister, Crystal Nelson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Delbert, on August 28, 1998; and son, Dean, on September 25, 2001.

Service is at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time; the Rev. Larry A. Moody, pastor of Burritt Community Church, Rockford, will officiate. Burial in North Burritt Cemetery, Winnebago.
