
Obituary for Delores Charlene Taylor
Winnebago – Delores Charlene Taylor, 89, of Winnebago, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Mercy Health Rockford Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Born November 3, 1928 in Independence, IA, the daughter of Harold James and Ann Viola (Lundy) Wigginton. She graduated from West High School in Rockford. Delores was co-owner and bookkeeper of Tom Taylor & Son Inc., a waste disposal company in Winnebago. Delores was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago and a volunteer at the Rockford Rescue Mission. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, reading, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Delores is survived by her daughter-in-law, Darla Taylor of Winnebago; granddaughters, Teresa (Jason) Ackerman of Winnebago, Tara (Dan) Giese of Rockford; great-grandchildren, Ryan Ackerman, Madilyn and Cashton Giese; sister, Betty Schad of Rockford; niece, Paula Schad of Freeport.
Delores is predeceased by her son, Chris Taylor; grandson, Troy Taylor; sister, Marcella.
Memorial visitation 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2018, at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago. Cremation rites accorded with private interment at Willwood Burial Park in Rockford.
