
Obituary for Delores "Dee" Ann Spring
Delores “Dee” Ann Spring, 62, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at her home. She was born November 5, 1959 in Aledo, IL in Mercer County, the daughter of Robert Lee and Georgia Ann (Staley) Rader. She graduated from Westmer High School in Joy, IL in 1977. Dee married Samuel Jasper Spring Jr. on July 6, 1985 at her parent’s yard in Mercer County.
She worked for over 20 years in the Winnebago School District as a bus driver and a paraprofessional, impacting many students and staff. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved to have all of her kids and grandkids out for swimming, grilling out, or just because, especially for the holidays. She enjoyed vacationing with her husband and her adventurous side took them sky diving, zip lining, parasailing, going on cruises, and they both enjoyed motorcycle rides.
Dee is survived by her husband, Samuel Spring Jr. of Rockford; sons, Dustin Retherford of Joy, Nickolas (Kira) Spring of Winnebago; daughters, Stephanie (Mike) Baney of Winnebago, Samantha (Bryan) White of Mt. Morris; fifteen grandchildren, Nathaniel Cowman, Dillon Harris, Ally Baney, Corbin Baney, Jenna Baney, David Retherford, Jacob Retherford, Zander Spring-Thornton, Izabel Spring-Thornton, Cooper White, Kendrick White, Samuel White, Abiageal Jones, Jasper Spring, Grayson Spring; mother, Georgia Rader of Aledo; sister, Diana Rader of Aledo; several nephews and nieces.
Dee is predeceased by her father Robert Rader; brother, David Lee Rader.
