Obituary for Dorothy E. Klinger
Pecatonica Dorothy E. Klinger, 96, of Pecatonica died Thursday, April 6, 2017, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 30, 1921 in Ridott Township the daughter of Lloyd Frederick and Anna Mary (Smith) Schrader. Graduated from Leaf River High School in 1939 as the class president. Dorothy married Edwin Paul Klinger in the parsonage of the Ridott Christian Reformed Church of German Valley on February 21, 1940. Dorothy and Edwin farmed together until retiring in 1998. A member of Seward Congregational Church many years where she taught Sunday school and was in the Womens Fellowship. At Seward Grade School she was involved in the PTA events and was a class room helper. Also a member of the Red Hat Ladies, Bluebirds and Lady Landowners. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, going on bus trips, watching plays and attending church suppers.
Dorothy is lovingly survived by her daughter, Cyndi Snow (George Rossow) of Shorewood; son, Duane Klinger of Pecatonica; grandson, Todd Snow of Rockford; great-grandchildren, Trey Snow, Haley Snow, Evan Snow, Dane Snow; several nephews and nieces and her little buddy, Sox.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Edwin Klinger on March 12, 2001; brother, Harry Schrader.

Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago with Rev. Jonathon P. Banister Chaplain of Northern Illinois Hospice officiating. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 in the funeral home.
