Winnebago – Dorothy May Sitton, 86, of Winnebago, was reunited in heaven with her husband and son on Monday, April 16, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Born August 24, 1931 in Datto, AR, the daughter of Elbert and Laura Lucille (Belcher) Pemberton. Dorothy married David Lawrence Sitton on February 6, 1948 in Charleston, MO. She was a member of the Rockford United General Baptist Ministries. Dorothy enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, canning, baking and her dog Gypsy.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Evelyn Kay McCulley, Norma (Roy) Kloster, Sherry Tripp, Terry (Sarah) Sitton all of Winnebago; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou (Ken Marcum) Sitton of Harlingen, TX; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Brenda) Pemberton of Cape Girardeau, MO; sister, Delois Wicker of Charleston, MO; numerous nephews and nieces.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, David Sitton; son, Lester Sitton; brothers, Jessie Pemberton, James Pemberton; sister, Geneva Webb.
Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, with a Memorial Visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago with Pastor Dr. Wayne Hodge of Rockford United General Baptist Ministries officiating. Cremation rites accorded with private interment at a later date at Winnebago Cemetery near Winnebago. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
