Obituary for Earl Leon Booth

Rockford - Earl Leon "Lee" Booth, 67, of Rockford, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Born December 7, 1945, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of Harvey C. and Helen J. (Higgins) Booth, and stepfather, Gerald Scott. Graduated from Auburn High School in 1963 and attended Rock Valley College. Lee was an industrial engineer at Ipsen Industries, Cherry Valley, over 30 years and a member of UAW Local No. 1268. He was very social with his buddies at Stables, loved his football, especially the Chicago Bears, had a special interest in history, and enjoyed fishing locally. Lee was known for telling jokes and was a great story-teller.

Lee is lovingly survived by his children, Scott (Laura) Booth, Tammy Kletecka, Tonya (Mark) Branthaver and Sean (Kristina) Booth; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Gayle) Booth and Rodger Durbin; sisters, Connie (Patrick) Merten and Shelly (Steve) Vandervort; sister-in-law, Christine Booth; stepbrother, Mike (Kathy) Scott; stepsister, Sherry (Jerry) Hawes; aunt, Pauline Ward; former wife, Sandra Booth; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents; stepfather, Gerald; wife, Sally Booth; and brother, Harvey Dallas Booth.

Lee's family would like to thank the staff of Crimson Point and Vitas Innovative Hospice Care for their friendship, and personal care and support.

Funeral Information

A gathering of friends and family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago. Cremation rites have been accorded.
