Husband, father and grandfather
Winnebago - Edward F. May, Jr., 87, of Winnebago, departed this earthly life Tuesday morning, February 21, 2006, in Wesley Willows Health Center, Rockford. Born April 26, 1918, in Marshfield, Wis., the son of Edward F. and Emma (Rahe) May, Sr. Edward married Jeanne Kalk on April 3, 1948, in St. Jude Catholic Church, Beloit, Wis. Together, they farmed in rural Winnebago. A lifelong farmer, Edward loved keeping the fields. He and Jeanne enjoyed playing pinochle with their friends. Edward's family wishes to thank the staff of Wesley Willows for their loving care given.
Edward is lovingly survived by his wife, Jeanne May of Winnebago, daughter, Mary (Gregory) Makulec of Rockford, grandsons, Shawn Edward and Christopher Thomas Makulec of Rockford, and several nieces and nephews.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, infant daughter, Rhonda Joy May and sisters, Mary, Levine, Mabel, and Luella.

Service is at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2006, in Johns Chapel, Wesley Willows, 4141 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, with the Rev. Steven Mindrup, former chaplain of Wesley Willows, officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Rockford. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2006, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
