Obituary for Eleanor Ruth Reinders

Rockford Eleanor Ruth Reinders, 85, of Rockford died Thursday morning, July 13, 2017 at Generations at Neighbors in Byron after a lengthy illness. Born October 9, 1931 in Lake Forest, IL, the daughter of Reverend James Harold and Dorothy Helen (Davis) Hagerty. Graduated from Byron High School in 1949 and Rockford Memorial School of Nursing in 1952. Eleanor married Kenneth Gerald Reinders on February 19, 1956 at the Court Street Methodist Church in Rockford. She worked as a registered nurse in surgery at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Eleanor and Kenneth farmed on South Pecatonica Road before moving to a farm on Centerville Road. After farming Eleanor worked as a home care nurse for a number years. She was very active at Middle Creek Presbyterian Church until late winter of this year being active in Choir, Bell Choir, Mariners, Ruth Circle and most any time she was asked to help. Eleanor and her family enjoyed camping starting with a trip to Yellowstone in 1964 in a tent, to a five week western state tour with Ken and the boys in a Starcraft camper and then a major of holiday weekends at Stronghold near Oregon, IL even taking the older grandsons. Then followed by many years on the lot at Woodhaven Lakes near Sublet, IL. Eleanor enjoyed card games at home with family and friends and taking photographs.

Eleanor is lovingly survived by her husband, Kenneth Reinders of Rockford; sons Michael (Debora) Reinders and James (Stephanie) Reinders both of Rockford; grandsons, Joshua (Rachel) Reinders of Ambridge, PA, Aaron (Keisha) Reinders, Xavier Reinders, David Tenni Reinders, Bassey Reinders all of Rockford; great-grandchildren, Elinor, Dasiy, Annette of Ambridge, PA, Lillian and Ezra both of Rockford.

Eleanor is predeceased by her sister, Harriet Hagerty, brother Donald Hagerty, parents; great-grandson, Kaiden Reinders.

Funeral Information

Memorial service 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 with a memorial visitation beginning at noon at Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, 12473 Montague Rd., Winnebago with Rev. Dr. Anita Stuart-Steva officiating. Cremation rites accorded. Private interment in Middle Creek Cemetery near Winnebago.
