Obituary for Elizabeth L. "Betty" Perry
Rockford - Elizabeth L. "Betty" Perry, 66, of Rockford, met her Lord face to face, Monday morning, May 28, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 13, 1941, in Rockford, the daughter of Lawrence and Ethel H. (Stumpel) Weiss. She attended East High School. Betty graduated from Rockford Business College in 1986. She was a Kiddie Kollege teacher and secretary at First Assembly of God for many years. Betty married Dorrell Perry on May 29, 1987 in First Assembly of God. An active member of First Assembly since age 15, she was a Sonlight leader, and participated in its marriage encounters, small group ministries and women's ministries groups. Betty loved and cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed working in her home as a ceramics instructor. With a nuturing spirit, Betty was quick to make friends with anyone she met, they became apart of her family; she also loved animals and nature.

Betty leaves behind her husband, Dorrell Perry of Rockford; daughters, Linda (Rick) Shrum of Rockford, Bonnie (Todd) Gustafson of Crystal Lake and Patricia (Chad Hagemann) Urso of Rockford; granddaughters, Stephanie Shrum and Sabrina Urso; special cousin like a grandson, Noah Wigton and his mom, Michelle Wigton; brothers, Stanley (Ginny) Weiss of Atlanta, Ga. and Robert Weiss of Rockford and many special nieces, nephews and close friends.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, parents-in-law and first husband, Thomas Terrell.

Funeral Information

Service is at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2007, in First Assembly of God, 5950 Spring Creek Road, Rockford, with visitation 12:00 p.m. until service time; Pastors Bob Taylor and Dan Qualls will officiate. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, in Pecatonica. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2007, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
