
Obituary for Esther O. Stykel
German Valley - Esther O. Stykel, 83, of German Valley, died Friday morning, February 11, 2011, in Liberty Village, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 22, 1927, in Forreston, the daughter of Irving and Nellie (Anderson) Earlenbaugh. She was confirmed in Faith Lutheran Church, Forreston, and graduated from Forreston High School in 1945. Esther married Lewis Stykel on September 24, 1949, in Silver Creek Reformed Church. Together, they farmed on the Stykel family farm. Esther was an active member of Silver Creek Reformed Church. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with Louie, having been to Canada, Mexico, England, and New Zealand.
Esther is lovingly survived by her brother, Gerald "Mike" (Evelyn) Earlenbaugh of Pearl City; brother-in-law, Melvin (Dolores) Stykel of Freeport; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends Michael and Judy Cook of Freeport. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Lewis, on December 19, 2002; brother, Charles Earlenbaugh; sister, Margaret Hollowell; brother-in-law, John Stykel, and nephew, Andrew Stykel.

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in Silver Creek Reformed Church, 325 S. Bunker Hill Road, German Valley, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Randall P. Knoll will officiate. Burial in Silver Creek Cemetery, German Valley.
