
Obituary for Frederic "Fritz" Walter Kluth
Pecatonica – Frederic “Fritz” Walter Kluth, 76, of Pecatonica, lost his fight on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health in Rockford, with Metastatic Prostate Cancer after four cancer trial attempts at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center in Madison, WI. Born October 18, 1941 in Freeport, the son of Walter Carl and Marguerite Beatrice (Marshall) Kluth. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Church in Freeport and graduated from Freeport High School in 1959. Fritz married Kathleen Frances Leake on May 15, 1971 in Rockford. He worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Micro Switch in Freeport from 1959 to 1965 and as a manufacturing engineer at Hamilton Sundstrand from 1965 to 2000. He also worked at SPX Fluid Power in Rockford from 2000 to 2004. Fritz was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Pecatonica. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing, especially catching Bluegills at Chetek, WI.
Fritz is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kluth of Pecatonica; son, Nathan Kluth of Chicago; sister, Leslie Ann Schuppan of Brentwood, MO; many nephews and nieces.
Fritz is predeceased by his parents.
Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018, with a memorial visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago with Rev. Terry L. Theiss pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Pecatonica officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established for St. John Lutheran Church. Cremation rites have been accorded.
