Gary grew up farming with his parents and continued on after their passing and also worked with Karl and John Heeren. He was a member of the Winnebago County Farm Bureau. He collected International Harvester tractors, International Harvester farm toys and farm equipment. Gary loved visiting his daughter Connie and grandson Brandon in Iowa, hanging out poolside by his camper, having a steak dinner on Saturday night and sitting at the farmers table at the Benton Street Café in Winnebago.
Gary is lovingly survived by his daughter, Connie Bentley of Maquoketa, IA; grandson, Brandon Bentley of Maquoketa, IA; several nephews and nieces.
Gary is predeceased by his parents; brother, Lloyd Schumacher; twin brother, Larry Schumacher; sisters, Betty Hepner, Nancy Kipling, Judy LaMont, Janet Lindsey.
A celebration of life will be held 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Gary Schumacher’s farm at 3236 Eddie Rd., Winnebago. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
