George Anton Hanson went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2014, after a year-long battle with mesothelioma. He will forever be in the hearts of all those who loved him. George was born on November 1, 1935 in Chicago to George and Catherine (Husle) Hanson. He attended Lane Technical High School and then Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa where he received a degree in business administration. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959, stationed in Saumur, France. Married Joyce R. Schilling on November 7, 1959. Resided in Palatine for 29 years, relocating to Winnebago in the year 2000. Retired from the Intec Group Inc. in Palatine, where he served as director of account development. His interests included gardening, photographing lighthouses, golf, travel and music. He was the founder and choral director of the Sebastian Singers in Palatine. He was a devoted follower and servant of the Lord at several Lutheran churches during his lifetime.
