
Obituary for Gerald E. Douglas
Pecatonica - Gerald E. Douglas, 89, of Pecatonica, formerly of Winnebago, died Monday night, June 18, 2007, in his home, after a lengthy illness. Born February 18, 1918, in Rockford, the son of Roy L. and Mabel (Linley) Douglas. Graduated from Winnebago High School in 1936. Gerald married Betty Zoe Morgan on August 18, 1945, in Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, in Winnebago. Together, they farmed 32 years in rural Winnebago. He was a member of Winnebago Evangelical Fellowship.
Gerald is lovingly survived by his wife, Zoe Douglas of Pecatonica; son, Ralph (Claudia) Douglas of Wheaton; nephew, Robert Douglas of Winnebago and several cousins.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents and brother, Raymond L. Douglas.
Funeral Information
Service is at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 10:00 a.m., until service time; the Rev. Ken Schmoyer, pastor of Winnebago Evangelical Fellowship, will officiate. Private burial in Willwood Burial Park, in Rockford.
