
Caledonia - Hazel E. Schreiber, 89, of Caledonia, died Saturday evening, March 31, 2007, in Pinecrest Manor, Mount Morris. Born August 21, 1917, in Seward, the daughter of John and Nettie (Harner) Fry. Graduated from Leaf River High School. Hazel married Dr. Adrian Schreiber in 1938. Following WWII, they established residence in Caledonia, where she was a founding member of the Boone County Medical Auxiliary. Hazel was an active member of the Caledonia Congregational Church and its Ladies Aide Society. She also assisted Adrian as a nurse and office manager. Hazel was an avid bridge player and a devoted grandmother.
Hazel is lovingly survived by her daughter, Carol (Walter) Traxinger of Palatine; daughter-in-law, Dawn Schreiber of Polo; grandchildren, Adrianne (Chris) Michele of Denver, Colo., Ryan (Kim) Traxinger of Mount Pleasant, Wis. and Daniel and Tara Schreiber, both of Polo; great-grandchildren, Otto, Olivia and Oliver Traxinger of Mount Pleasant and sister, Daisy Mae Welsby of Hopewell, Va.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Adrian Schreiber in 1976, son Clayton Schreiber in November 2005, sister, Doris Rose, and brothers, Marshall, Paul, Don, and Max Fry.
Funeral Information
Service is at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in Seward Congregational Church, with visitation 3:00 p.m. until service time; the Rev. Ronald C. Farb will officiate. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, in Pecatonica. Hazel's family wishes to invite family and friends who are unable to attend the funeral service to please join them at the dinner following the committal service, held at Seward Congregational Church.
