
Obituary for Ida B. Johnson
In Loving Memory
Winnebago - Ida B. Johnson, 84, of Winnebago, died Friday night, October 17, 2008, in Anam Care Inc., Rockford, after a lengthy illness. Born March 4, 1924, in Waynesville, Mo., the daughter of Elbert and Mary (McMillan) Dye. She graduated from Waynesville High School in 1942. Ida married Ralph H. Johnson on June 29, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo. Together, they farmed in Pecatonica for seven years and continued farming in Winnebago until Ralph's retirement. In addition, she was employed at Amerock for 26 years. Ida was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and the Winnebago County Farm Bureau Home Extension. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, and dearly loved being with her family and friends.
Ida is lovingly survived by her children, Lester (Faye) Johnson of Rockton, Karen (Larry) Satchwell of Loganville, Ga., Gary Johnson of Rockford and Dale (Lorrie) Johnson of Naperville; grandchildren, Nicole, Dana, Laura, Ben, Brianne, Alyssa, Eric, Nick, Ron and Christine; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Haley, Abby and Ethan; brother, Herman (Nadine) Dye of Waynesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ralph Johnson on August 4, 2003; daughter-in-law, Mary Johnson; brothers, Gilbert and Don Dye; and sister, Lois Jackson.

Service is at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2008, in First Presbyterian Church, 208 W. Winnebago St., Winnebago, with the Rev. Steve P. Shullanberger officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, in Rockford. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 20, 2008, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
