Obituary for Janet L. Lindsey
Winnebago - Janet L. (Schumacher) Lindsey, 51, of Winnebago, died early Saturday morning, March 19, 2011, in UW Madison Hospital. Born May 5, 1959, in Rockford, the daughter of Lester and Margaret (Miller) Schumacher. Graduated in 1977 from Winnebago High School. Janet married David Lindsey on December 9, 1995, in First Lutheran Church, Pecatonica. She was previously employed by Agro Feed Seed, Karl Heeren Inc. and most recently by A.V. Reilly International as branch manager, until time of illness. In her youth, she was a member of the Burritt Winners 4-H Club serving as treasurer for two years, acted as a junior leader and coached the softball team for two years. Janet deeply missed working on the farm, so she continued her connection to the land by working in her flower gardens and yard. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading cookbooks, NASCAR and promoting organ donation whenever she could.

Janet is lovingly survived by her husband, David Lindsey of Winnebago; stepson, Jason (Angela) Lindsey of Rockford; stepdaughter, Kirstin (C. J.) Pinter of Iowa; grandchildren, Brooke Lindsey and Logan and Alexandria Pinter; sisters, Betty Hepner of Winnebago; Nancy (Bill) Kipling of Rockton and Judy (Wayne) Lamont of Rockford; brothers, Lloyd (Sue) Schumacher of Merrill, Wis. and Gary Schumacher of Winnebago; sister-in-law, Bette Angell of Winnebago; special nieces, Mary Schmitt and Angela Williams; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great niece and nephews, cousins; uncle, Ellsworth; and aunt, Myrla. She was predeceased by her parents; parents-in-law, Earl and Verble Lindsey; brother, Larry Schumacher; and beloved cat, Tag.

Funeral Information

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with the Rev. Ronald C. Farb, paster of Seward Congregational Church, officiating. Burial in North Burritt Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in the funeral home.
