Loving Mother and Grandmother
Pecatonica - Joanne M. Doran, 71, of Pecatonica, died Monday, December 29, 2014, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born August 31, 1943, in Rockford, the daughter of Donald W. "Cy" and Margaret L. (Hassel) Sartorius. Graduated from Winnebago High School in 1961. Joanne married Vincent Doran on June 10, 1961, in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Rockford. She worked at Newell, Amcore Bank, many years at Pecatonica Produce and Supply, and retired from Dean Foods. Joanne was a member of the Pecatonica Lions Club, Red Hatters, Thursday Night Card Club, and served as president of the Parkview Condominium Association. She enjoyed playing cards, including bridge, cribbage, and euchre to name a few, with family and friends. Joanne also enjoyed cooking and entertaining, traveling and going to various casinos. She dearly loved spending time with her entire family, attending all the family gatherings and watching her grandsons' sporting events.
Joanne is lovingly survived by her children, Greg (Barbie) Doran of Pecatonica, Mark (Marie) Doran of Pecatonica, and Michelle (Kelly) Cook of South Beloit; grandsons, Justin (Meghan) Doran of Pecatonica, Jake and Adam Holland of Pecatonica and Kaden Cook of South Beloit; father, Donald (Mary Frances) Sartorius of Hermitage, Tenn.; brothers, Jim (Priscilla) and Jeff Sartorius; sisters, Jill (Dennis) Deckard and Jeri Beth (Mark) Heckman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret on May 8, 1990; husband, Vincent on May 16, 1998; and daughter, Amy Jo Doran on July 30, 1971.
Funeral Information
Service is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2015, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Katie Voigt, pastor of Pecatonica United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica. Visitation 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2015, in the funeral home.
