
Obituary for Judith "Judy" Ann Hodgdon
Judith “Judy” Ann Hodgdon, 81, of Winnebago, passed Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Lincolnshire Place in Loves Park. She was born July 21, 1940 in Rockford, the daughter of Keith Elsworth and Esther Mae (Matthews) Weaver. She graduated Valedictorian from Hononegah High School in 1958. Judy married Dennis “Denny” Paul Hodgdon on August 8, 1958 in Shirland.
Together Judy and Denny owned and operated Denny’s Standard later named Amoco and then Mobil at Highway 20 and Winnebago Road in Winnebago. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago and Daughters of the American Revolution. Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchilden, card club friends for over 60 years, going to garage sales and taking care of her animals.
The family thanks Lincolnshire Place and Transitions Hospice for their loving care and Bev Samsel, Bev Barker and Janice Seyler for their special time spent with Judy.
Judy is survived by her sons, Jeffery (VeLinda) Hodgdon of Winnebago, Douglas (Julie) Hodgdon of Winnebago, Daniel (Amy) Hodgdon of Winnebago; grandchildren, Joshawa (Jacquelyn) Hodgdon, Kristin Blanchard, Michael Hodgdon, Jacob (Melanie) Hodgdon, Luke Paluzzi, Sarah Paluzzi, Sarah (Chris) Woodman, Daniel II (Cara) Hodgdon, Meghan (Brent) Makosh; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Ralph) Santiago; several nephews and nieces.
Judy is predeceased by her husband, Denny Hodgdon; brother, Ron Weaver.
Funeral service 12:00 p.m., with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago with Pastor Tim Spickler of New Life Bible Church officiating. Interment at Winnebago Cemetery near Winnebago. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
