
Obituary for Kathleen "Kathy" A. Pippel
Rockford - Kathleen "Kathy" A. Pippel, 59, of Rockford, died Saturday afternoon, November 11, 2006, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford, after a lengthy illness. Born August 9, 1947, in Eau Claire, Wis., the daughter of John and Eva (LaPoint) Sauer. Graduated from East High School in 1967. Kathy married John Pippel on June 9, 1967, in Brooke Road United Methodist Church, in Rockford. She worked in numerous positions in the restaurant industry and was a longtime secretary and active member of Brooke Road United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Brooke Road Quilters, and a volunteer for Ken-Rock Community Center for many years. Kathy enjoyed crafting, cross-stitching, sewing and showing her work at craft shows.
Kathy is lovingly survived by her husband, John Pippel, son, Todd Pippel and father, John Sauer, all of Rockford, sister, Sue (Rick) Neblock of Winnebago, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathy was predeceased by her mother, Eva Sauer, on Oct. 10, 1994.

Memorial Service is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2006, in Brooke Road United Methodist Church, 1404 Brooke Road, Rockford with the Rev. Cynthia Zolk, pastor of Brooke Road United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Rick Neblock, pastor of Winnebago United Methodist Church, co-officiating. At Kathy's request, cremation rites were accorded.
