Cherished mother and grandmother
Freeport - Kathleen M. "Boss" Stroud, 55, of Freeport, formerly of Rockford, died Sunday night, May 6, 2007, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born February 9, 1952, in Rockford, the daughter of Laurence Boss, Jr. and Nadine (Watters) Lawrence. Kathleen married Joe Stroud on October 18, 1970, in Rockford; many years later they divorced. She was a cook at different nursing homes and restaurants, and then was a cashier at Vista Shell gas station in Rockford. Kathleen's kids and grandchildren were number one, and she loved Elvis and dancing. She was a strong, caring and giving person, willing to help anyone in need.
Kathleen is lovingly survived by her daughters, Heather (Greg) Drummer of Rockford, Kathy Joe Stroud of Rockford,Amanda (Mark) Hessian of Freeport and Ashley (Randy) Huenefeld of Freeport; grandchildren, Craig, Cody, Keri, Shyann, Summer, Hailey and Joshua; brother, Kyle (Sally) Boss, half-brothers, Kevin Boss and Harry Lawrence; sisters, Candy (Charles) Williams, Christine Smith, Connie Sanchez, and Patricia (Mike) Richardson; hHalf-sister, Carla Clark; her parents and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was predeceased by her grandson, Alexzander "Big Al" Huenefeld, on Sunday morning, May 6, 2007 and her niece Tracy Boss Gardner.

Service is at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2007, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with Pastor Herman Brown, pastor of Lincolnwood Baptist Church, in Rockford, officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, in Rockford. Visitation 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2007, in the funeral home.
