Obituary for Larry Germain
Pecatonica - Larry Germain, 68, of Pecatonica, died Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2010, in his home. Born June 18, 1942, in Rock Run Township, the son of Marvin and Zora (Anderson) Germain. Attended Dakota High School and joined the U.S. Army in 1963, having served active duty and reserves for six years. Larry married Wanda L. Miller on December 16, 1967, in Adeline. Side by side they built a very successful life and business. He retired in 2000 after completing 33 years as a dealer for Standard Oil. Larry was involved with the Pecatonica Fire Department and the Winnebago County fair. He was also a member of the 40-8 Club and the Pecatonica American Legion Post 197. Larry and Wanda enjoyed a lot of their time snowmobiling locally and spent countless hours on their cabin cruiser on the upper Mississippi River.
Larry is survived by his sister, Frances Jansen of Evarts; aunt, LaVonne Colloton of Sterling, cousin, Linda Winchie of Pecatonica; nephews, Michael Germain of Goodhue, Minn. and David Germain of Freeport; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; and many friends and customers. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Wanda, on April 6, 1991; and brothers, Lowell and Loran.
Larry's family would like to thank all of his close friends and neighbors that have encouraged and helped him through his struggle with cancer.

Service is at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2010, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with the Rev. Terry L. Theiss, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Pecatonica, officiating. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2010, in the funeral home.
