Obituary for Lauri J. Vincer-Ebens
Rockford - Lauri J. Vincer-Ebens, 50, of Rockford, died Friday morning, September 14, 2007, in her home, in the loving care of her family after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born February 26, 1957, in Rockford, the daughter of Paul Vincer and Sharon (Davis) Snyder. She graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1975. Lauri married Todd Ebens of Pecatonica on May 2, 2003. Lauri knew a little bit of something, about almost everything and was someone we all turned to with questions. She was a very skilled employee and was happiest when she ran her own restaurant in Mayfield, Ky. Lauri enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, crocheting, knitting, finding bargains at garage sales and thrift shops, doing home repair and spending time with friends and family. She taught us all a little something about life and how to live it. She was known for her extreme generosity. When you went to Lauri's house, you never left with your hands empty.

Lauri is lovingly survived by her husband, Todd Ebens of Rockford; daughter, Melissa (James) Highfill of Saipan; grandson, Connor Paul Highfill of Saipan; parents, Paul and Marilyn Vincer of Winnebago and Sharon Snyder of Plano, Texas; siblings, Paula (Mario) Fortunato of Pecatonica, Jeff Vincer of Pecatonica, Pam Green of Winnebago, Lisa (Tom) Andrew of Argyle, Jackie (Brian) Wilson of Machesney Park and Tami (Ray) Ljubisic of Dallas, Texas, grandparents, William and Jeanette Davis of Sarasota, Fla., as well as numerous other family members, friends, and the many strays that she adopted throughout her journey (both human and animal).

Lauri was predeceased by her grandparents, William and Nellie Vincer and her beloved Little Red Dog.

Her family would like to thank Dr. Patricia Thompson and the team at the Cancer Treatment Center of America, in Zion and Kelly, Suzanne and the team of Heartland Hospice for their amazing compassion and care during Lauri's journey.
