Obituary for Lavonne M. Bacino
Leaf River - Lavonne M. Bacino, 74, of Leaf River, formerly of Winnebago, died Friday, June 28, 2013, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, after a short illness. Born March 14, 1939, in Rockford, the daughter of Jesse and Florence (Alden) Burkhart. Graduated from Leaf River High School in 1957 and attended Northern Illinois University. She was a social worker for Illinois Department of Human Services for 30 years. Lavonne was an active member of Leaf River Baptist Church and the Leaf River Lions Club, having served as treasurer for many years. She dearly loved being mom, grandma, and great-grandmother, and caring for her family. Lavonne also had a love for horses and enjoyed caring for them.
Lavonne is lovingly survived by her children, Sharon Wiebe, Mark Bacino, Marcia Rue, Michelle Fry and John Bacino; grandchildren, Nikky Roberson, Joey Zito, Brittany Wiebe, and Spencer Fry; great-grandson, Seth Zito; sister-in-law, Sandy Burkhart; niece, Wendy Burkhart; nephew, Kim Burkhart and grandniece, Tanya Canfield. She was predeceased by her brother, Marvin Burkhart.

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with the Rev. Randy Newton, of Leaf River Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in the funeral home.
