"Dolly"

Winnebago - Leilah R. Miller, 77, of Winnebago, went home to the Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2015 after a sudden illness. Leilah, "Dolly", as she was known by her family and friends was born, June 11, 1938 to Clarence and Ellen (McKinley) Gray in Rockford, Illinois. Dolly was a proud Rockford West High School graduate of the class of 1956. In her earlier adult life, Dolly worked in a variety of office positions, enjoying meeting people and the music of late 50's, especially Elvis. In 1958, Dolly married the love of her life, John, and had four children. Dolly would go onto work for the Rockford School District in a variety of positions, including the Gifted Program, which was close to her heart. While raising her four children, Dolly was involved with many of their sporting activities, always prepared with her famous Texas Sheet cake.

Dolly is lovingly survived by her four children, Michele of Freeport, Ronald (Suzanne) of Hudson, WI, and Kurt (Mary) and Tracy, both of Winnebago. Dolly's pride and joy were her three grandchildren, Michael of Tampa, FL, John Connor of Richmond, VA, and Nichole of Winnebago. Dolly is also survived by her brother, Thomas Gray of Davis; sister, Carol Gray; sister-in-law, Betty Fisher; sister- and brother-in-law, Beverly and Jim Mackey, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Rockford. She was predeceased by her parents, brother, William; sister-in-law, Georgia Gray; brother-in-law, Dorian Fisher; and the father of her children, John Miller.

Funeral Information

Service is at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time; Pastor Tim Spickler of New Life Bible Church, Winnebago, will officiate. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
