BELOVED MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER
Winnebago - Lola J. Swanson, 84, of Winnebago, died Monday, March 3, 2014, in P.A. Peterson Center for Health, Rockford. Born March 27, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of Floyd and Julia (Reints) Kanode. Graduated from West High School, Rockford, in 1946. Lola married Kenneth L. Swanson in Rockford, on September 9, 1949. She was the traffic manager at WREX-TV for 24 years and a member of Winnebago United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. Society. Loving to play bridge, she also was a member of several card clubs.
Lola is lovingly survived by her daughters, Deborah Hartman and Mary (Einar Forsman) Swanson, both of Rockford; grandsons, Aaron and Andy Hartman; nephew, Tom (Judy) Kinison; great-nephews, Stuart and Trentt Kinison; and many cousins. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth, on May 20, 1990; son-in-law, Greg Hartman; sister, Kay Kinison; and great-nephew, Tyler Kinison.
Funeral Information
Service is at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 5:00 p.m. until service time; the Rev. Keith Kelsey-Powell, interim pastor of Winnebago United Methodist Church, will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded.
