
Obituary for Louise Denekas
Winnebago - Louise Denekas, 90, of Winnebago, died Saturday morning, October 21, 2006, in Biltmore Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Belvidere. Born May 19, 1916, the daughter of Richard and Tina (Lamayer) Fry. Louise married Walter Denekas on December 13, 1934, in the parsonage of Silver Creek Reformed Church, in German Valley. Together they farmed in Seward from 1939 to 1952, and then in Rock Grove until 1973, and moved to Winnebago in 1978. Louise was a member of Winnebago Evangelical Fellowship and loved church, Bible studies and gospel music.
Louise is lovingly survived by her son, Robert W. (Edna) Denekas of Rockford, grandsons, Dan Denekas of Kankakee and Mark Denekas of Rockford, stepgrandchildren, Norma (Wayne) Guillaume of Peru, Ind., Shirley (Stephen) Grant of Kokomo, Ind. and Roger (Patricia) Ruark of Peru, Ind., several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and sister, Tina (Rudy) Valenti of Machesney Park.
Louise was predeceased by her husband, Walt Denekas on February 22, 1992, and sisters, Marie (Henry) Willms and Johanna (Jack) Christians.
Funeral Information
Service is at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2006, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 12:00 p.m., until service time; the Rev. Ken Schmoyer, pastor of Winnebago Evangelical Fellowship in Winnebago, will officiate. Burial in Silver Creek Cemetery, in German Valley.
