
Obituary for Lovina J Cox
Loves Park - Lovina "Bena" J. Cox, 67, of Loves Park, went home Friday, February 6, 2015, from Rockford Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy illness. Born December 17, 1947, in Kirksville, Mo., the daughter of Holland and Hazel (Kirkpatrick) Cook. Graduated from Winnebago High School in 1965. Bena married Larry Foht; later they divorced. She married Craig Cox on September 14, 1996, in First Presbyterian Church, Winnebago. Bena provided daycare in her home in Winnebago for 32 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed their gatherings. Bena was a talented crafter and shared her skills with anyone, generously donating her artwork. She also enjoyed living in Las Vegas. Bena loved having a good time and was one-of-a-kind.
Bena is lovingly survived by her husband, Craig; son, Jesse (Leslie Hammond) Foht of Rockford; grandchildren, Roman and Makenna Foht of Rockford; stepdaughters, Stacy (Dan) Simms of Loves Park and Krystle Cox of Rockford; stepgrandchildren, Haley and Austin Simms of Loves Park; brother, Randy (Jan) Cook; sisters, Sharon Dearth and Linda (John) Conley; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.

Service is at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 4:00 p.m. until service time; Pastor Tim Spickler of New Life Bible Church, Winnebago, will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded.
