
Obituary for Lucille Ethel Armstrong
Byron - Lucille Ethel Armstrong, 90, of Byron, died Thursday night, July 19, 2007, in Neighbors Nursing Home, Byron. Born March 19, 1917, in West Brooklyn, the daughter of Fred and Sadie (Grossa) Biggart. Lucille married Harold Armstrong on August 17, 1936, in Clinton, Iowa. Together, they farmed in Boone County, retiring in 1966. She then operated a lapping machine at Sintereted Specialists, a division of Parker Pen, in Janesville, Wis., retiring in 1981. Lucille enjoyed summer-time fishing in Tomahawk, Wis. with her family.
Lucille is lovingly survived by her daughters, Sandy Statdfield of Rockford and Beverly (Dale) Emery of Byron; son, Harold "Butch" (Terry) Armstrong of Rockton; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Harold Armstrong, on Dec. 10, 1998; brother, Howard Biggart; sister, Ione Kundert and son-in-law, Jerry Statdfield.
Funeral Information
Service is at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation 10:00 a.m. to service time; the Rev. Randy Snider, pastor of First Baptist Church, in Byron, will officiate. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, in Rockford.
