Loving mother and beloved Nana
Rockford - Lucille Kathryn Schwengels, 88, life-long resident of Rockford, died Saturday afternoon, September 9, 2006, in Provena St. Anne Center, in Rockford, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness. Born March 24, 1918 in Rockford, the daughter of Henry and Alphild (Nelson) Swanson. She graduated from Rockford High School in 1935. Lucille married Clarence E. Schwengels in Belvidere on August 29, 1936. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Rockford and its senior citizen circle. Lucille enjoyed volunteering at Tinker Swiss Cottage. Her family wishes to thank the staff of Provena St. Anne Center for their dedication and care given to Lucille.
Lucille is lovingly survived by her children, Nancy Radloff of Rockford, Larry (Margaret) Schwengels of Rockford, Linda (Michael) Prentice of Cape Coral, Fla., Bonnie (Daryl) Cosgrove of Beloit, Wis., Janet Kamholtz of Rockford and Bradley (Christine) Schwengels of Seward, twenty grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and sisters, Marjorie Thorson and Barbara Foster, both of Rockford.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Schwengels, who died on February 14, 1987, daughters, Betty Taylor and Carol Flood, son, Fred Schwengels, brothers, Fred and Marshall Swanson and son-in-law, Jim Radloff.
Funeral Information
Service 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2006, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Paul Walker, pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery in Winnebago.
