
Obituary for Luise Anna Dickens
Rockford - Luise Anna Dickens, 88, of Rockford, died Wednesday morning, May 23, 2007, in Springwood on Main. Born June 1, 1918, in Wiesbaden, Germany, the daughter of George Weiss and Josephine (Popp) Weiss. Luise married Harold Burgess Dickens on April 7, 1952, in Germany. Following their marriage, they moved to New York City and then to DeKalb. Luise was a cook at Rockford College for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and enjoyed attending its Monday morning Bible class.
Luise was predeceased by her husband, Harold Dickens, Sr., on May 29, 1997, and her son, Harold Burgess Dickens, Jr., on November 6, 1992.
Funeral Information
Service at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2007, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Northwest Site, 4881 Kilburn Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time; the Rev. David J. Thies will officiate. At Luise's request, cremation rites were accorded. Interment of ashes in Winnebago Cemetery, in Winnebago.
