Obituary for Marjorie M. Wessels
German Valley - Marjorie M. Wessels, 90, of German Valley, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport, after a short illness. Born on September 28, 1920, in Freeport, the daughter of Simon and Margaret (Decknadel) Fricke. She attended school in Freeport. Marjorie married Robert R. Wessels on April 16, 1949, in St. John's parsonage, Freeport. Together, they farmed the Wessels farm in German Valley. She was an active member of Silver Creek Reformed Church and its Ladies Aid Society.
Marjorie is lovingly survived by her daughter, Marcella "Marcy" Wessels of Freeport; son, Miles Wessels of German Valley; brother, Karl (Carol) Fricke of Independence, Iowa; sister-in-law, Marjorie Wessels Klentz of German Valley; nieces, Vickie (Michael) Nagel, Becky (Rex) McCoy, and Patti (Ron) King, all of German Valley, Lynell (David) Kahn of The Woodlands, Texas, Krista (Tom) Miner of Farley, Iowa, and Stacy (Rick) Rungaitis of Waukegan; and nephews, Pastor Lance (Janice) Fricke of Independence, and Michael (Judy) Klentz of German Valley. She was predeceased by her husband on July 11, 2006; sister, Betty Koehn; and brother, Alvin Fricke.

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2011, in Silver Creek Reformed Church, 326 S. Bunker Hill Road, German Valley, with the Rev. Randall P. Knoll officiating. Burial in Silver Creek Cemetery, German Valley. Visitation 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011, in Silver Creek Reformed Church.
