
Obituary for Marlene E. Ralston
Rockford - Marlene Esther Ralston, 75, of Rockford, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in her daughter's home, following a lengthy illness. Born July 16, 1936, in Rockford, the daughter of Fred and Gertrude (Anderson) Knudsen. Graduated from East High School in 1954. Marlene married David Ralston on August 16, 1982. She was a secretary at Mattison Machine Works, retiring in 1994. Marlene was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Rockford.
Marlene is lovingly survived by her daughters, Vickie (Walter) Pfeilschifter of Winnebago and Cherie (Jim) Kitzmiller of Rockford; grandchildren, Julie (Dan) Eshleman, Tom (Amy) Heck, Valerie (Shawn) Stonesifer, and Zack (Lele) Kitzmiller; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Alfred (Sandra), Donald (Kathy), and Richard (Dot) Knudsen; several nieces and nephews; best friend, Avon Sulser; and good friend, Keith Meyer. Predeceased by her parents and husband, David, on April 1, 1995.

Funeral Information
Service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, in St. Mark Lutheran Church, 675 N. Mulford Road, Rockford, with visitation from noon until service time; the Rev. Donald Lavelle will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded.
