
Obituary for Marvin "Marv" O. Conrad
Cherished husband, father, papa, grandfather, brother
Winnebago - Marvin O. "Marv" Conrad of Winnebago passed away surrounded by his loving family Tuesday morning, February 22, 2005 after a short but very courageous battle with liver cancer. Born May 30, 1949 in South Beloit, the son of Wilbur and Dorothea (Scott) Conrad. Marvin married Linda McCornock on October 18, 1969, in St. John Lutheran Church, Pecatonica. He was co-owner of Hazen Display Corp. and semi-retired in July 2003. He started a small business building various styles of clocks and enjoyed raising miniature horses. Marv was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, National Sporting Clays Assoc., Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever. Although we don't understand why he was taken so soon, the family takes comfort in the time they were given and knowing he is now with the Lord.
Marv is lovingly survived by his wife, Linda Conrad of Winnebago, children, Kevin Conrad of Pecatonica, Nichole (Joseph) Schiro of Winnebago, Angelia (Tony) Michard of Longmont, Colo., and Robin Johnson of Winnebago, grandchildren, "Papa's Special Angel" Dalton and Dakotah Johnson, Jordan and Teagan Conrad and Nicholas and Salvatore "Sammy" Schiro, brothers, David Conrad of Lyndon Station, Wis., and Paul (Sheryl) Conrad of Rockford, sisters, Shirley France and Marjorie Conrad, both of Rockford and Audrey Shores of Springdale, Ark., father and mother-in-law, William "Bill" and Marguerite "Peg" McCornock of Winnebago, brother-in-law, Terry (Sue) McCornock of Winnebago, special sisters-in-law, Lora Conrad of South Beloit and Janice (Bill) Hartung of Melrose, Wis., numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and very special friends, Ed and Melody Campbell of Winnebago and Bev Bell of Rockford.
Marv is predeceased by his parents, Wilbur and Dorothea Conrad and sister, Bonnie Lee Conrad.
The family wishes to thank all the FHN Home Healthcare and Hospice nurses for their compassion and support during this very difficult time.
Funeral Information
Service is at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005, in St. John Lutheran Church, 1301 N. Jackson St., Pecatonica, with the Rev. Terry L. Theiss officiating. At Marv's request, cremation rites will be accorded. Private burial in Willwood Burial Park in Rockford. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2005, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
