
Obituary for Mary V. Johnson
Rockford - Mary V. Johnson, 82, of Rockford, died Saturday afternoon, October 20, 2007, in River Bluff Nursing Home. Born July 15, 1925, in Lynxville, Wis., the daughter of Threll F. and Olive E. (Updike) Potts. Mary married Paul A. Johnson on May 22, 1947, in Rockford. She was employed by Atwood Vacuum Machine Co. for several years. Mary attended Riverside Assembly of God. She loved cooking for her family, sewing, fishing and shopping. Mary created quilts for each of her children and grandchildren.
Mary is lovingly survived by her daughters, Sandy (Dominick) Barcellona of Machesney Park, Susan Johnson of Rockford and Julie Johnson of Rockford; sons, Michael (Colleen) Johnson of Rockford and Robert Johnson of Hayti, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Sandy Johnson of Machesney Park; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Paul Johnson, on January 19, 1997; son, Charles Johnson and grandson, Kevin Larson.

Service is at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2007, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with the Rev. Truman Turner, pastor of Riverside Assembly of God, officiating. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2007 in the funeral home.
