Obituary for Neil M. "Ollie" Allabaugh
Rockford - Neil M. "Ollie" Allabaugh, 83, of Rockford, died Friday, December 12, 2008, in Rosewood Care Center, Rockford, after a lengthy illness. Born January 28, 1925, in Sterling, the son of Russell G. and Beulah E. (Zigler) Allabaugh. Graduated from Sterling High School in 1943. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Neil married Maxine Bowman on February 26, 1957, in Rockford. He worked the family business Allabaugh Well Co. for 20 years before forming Ace Pump Well Drilling in 1966, providing water to many in the Rockford and surrounding areas. Neil was a member of the motorcycle club, Rockford Roamers, and GPDA.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Allabaugh of Rockford; sons, Brian (Lynn), Jay (Maureen) and Andy Allabaugh; daughter, Sally (Jason) Bennett; grandchildren, Kelly, Marcus, Thomas, Annie, Jessica, Sarah, David, Michael, Abby, Casey, Samantha and Morgan; great-granddaughter, Rachel; sisters, Doris (Ed) Gullett and Mary (Don); dear niece, Linda (Don) Elliot; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Everett, Zale "Zeke", Marv and John Allabaugh; and sister, Ruth Dixon.

Service is at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 10:00 a.m., until service time; Pastor W. Ralph Martin, pastor of Memorial Baptist Church, Rockford, will officiate. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.
